Ok, Here's what happened the past few days...
I recently lowered my car with the Ground Control adjustable slip ons....Everyone has their opinions about the slip ons but I have no problems with them right now, But that is the least of my worries...When me and Chris (cburg05civic) lowered it last thursday, We put it on some fourteen inch steel rims until I could get it aligned because I didn't want to kill my Yoko's...Well I got it aligned yesterday and when I brought it home the first thing I did was washed it...After that, I hurried to get my good rims because I was so excited to see how it looked...I pulled into the garage and proceeded to put the front rims on...Everything went well and I got the rims on in no time.We lowered the jack slowly and realized there may be a clearance issue, When the wheel is turned there is a little less than a quarter of an inch between the fender and the tire....No big deal, I'd just have to take it slow while turning to make sure I don't kill the fender.I then pulled out and started on the rear, They were just as easy to get on as the front but as I was putting the car down, A problem occured...When the car was fully off the jack the rear tires where so far into the wheel well that the quarter panel was sitting on the sidewall of the tire.I kinda' figured this would happen so I wasn't that surprised.I called up my friend to see if he could help me "roll" the quarter. When he came over we proceeded to roll the quarter but hit a snag...We cracked the paint off the edge of the quarter which at the time, Was a HUGE deal to me because I'm very picky when it comes to stuff like that...Long story short...The passenger side of the car still rubs if I hit a Hard enough bump or if I'm going at a fairly decent speed and hit a small bump.My question is - Instead of continuely rolling the quarter would it be best to take a grinder to the edge of the inner lip and take about a quarter of an inch to a half inch off and just spray it flat black in there to keep it from rusting and throw some clear RTV in there to keep it sealed?
Due to this little incident, The car is now in it's "Under Construction" stage...I'll keep you guys posted of the process and the progress as the time comes...Just let me know what you think about grinding that small amount of the quarter panel off to get the clearance issue fixed...
Thanks Alot Guys,
Wes
