So right the moment the car is making 120horse power with 118 torque
Image

It should be making over 150-160 right the moment. Jeff Evans and I discovered that the stage 3 cam does not have enough static compression in order to make power. basically the cam is to big unless I up the compression.

I have also noticed with the stage 3 cam that at a certain temp usually 22 degrees F and below the car changes personality. Now when temp's drop you make more power which is normal. But with this cam at a certain point it changes feels like your boosting or spraying I have never ran into a motor that had such a large jump in power just cause of the temp it is unnatural.

Also the stage 3 is alot smoother and more progressive than the stage 2. In my car the stage 2 was just mean f***in brutal. vtec point physically hurt.

the car has hit 144 hp on the stage 2 but thanks to the tempest I have no real proof of this only what I saw with my own eyes which was a map for 127hp with matching torque and I had a hole in every exhaust gasket at the time. and No Jdm Fabtech intake mani or dc-sports full race header.

The car has also been through a lot I have had the cam gear bolt back off, I have spun the cam with the clearances to tight(just un-seats all the valves), I have had the timing marks on the crank gear get knocked off, watched my crank pulley roll past me down the street lmao, I have had one timing belt tensioner seize(caught that early), I had one brand new timing belt tensioner shear off the bolt that held it on. I went through 4 transmission in 2 weeks and an ankle, and then the bottom end of the motor went the next week after the dynot tune during the street tune (towed the car home myself from PA and didn't look at it for almost a month), and had more wheel studs break and in the weirdest way on the front driver side wheel than I can count, only broke one on the passenger side.

The motor has been pulled over ten times last year I think the last count was either 12 or 13 times I can get it out in 90 mins from the time the floor jack hits the chasis.

I have replaced so many valves in the head that my freind brett likes to go around say that "For most People lossing there timing belt means a new car or motor for you it means a Late Night and a Six Pack of Beer"

here is some pics of carnage

Not after 25 years lol! I lived in Arlington(born and raised) I am still up there every other weekend I now live down in Richmond because I went back to school to finish up my degree at VCU

rhd:eek3: in for updates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah It is going to be a while before the RHD gets done I still need to get the firewall from England. I'm hoping this summer but no job right the moment so funds are tight and I figure it is going to take at least 3 weeks if not a month to weld in the fire wall and take care of everything(going to seam weld the chasis at the same time). Of course knowing me I will do it all in a week if not a weekend. lol. I will put some pics up of the dash at some point but it is back home in dc and I won't be up there for two weeks

Ahhh some of my parts going to a good home.
I hope so lol I feel like I am the only old guy left now. but don't worry I won't give up on this car I hit the wall a while back and it took a lot to get past it I don't think it can stop me now just slow me down a lot:rofl: besides no one in my family will let me I have already put too much into it.

Alright on to the future!!!!

So the future modification list is:

RHD Conversion
Seam weld the Chassis
Foam the Chassis
Spherical Bearing inserts in the front lower control arms
Looking into a 32 mm rear sway bar but it is stupid expensive
rear diffuser w/ under body completely paneled for aerodynamics
Buddy Club race seats
Full cage
quick release steering wheel
a redesign of certain parts in the front suspension to try to completely eliminate bump steer
window tint
Flat Matt Black paint job (already have my guy lined up got to wait till I finish the RHD though)
High comp pistons 12.5 compression (yeah the GX piston!)
might throw in an oil cooler this summer (depends on the temps)
Fuel Cell (cause the car keeps stalling from throwing it too hard)
v-band the exhaust
Turbo (only after I have decided when I have gone far enough with the N/A.)

I am pretty sure I will go all the way N/A and squeeze as much power as possible out of the motor before Honda's formula 1 team decides to shut me down cause I just that good LOL!

Finally you make a thread! We should meet up one day, I live less than 5 miles from you haha.
I met you at HIN last year, if you remember.

#17 ·
LoL totally that would be cool. Yeah I remember meeting you at HIN

I have your car, but hella slow

How long have you been in Richmond?
mine is still slow but it is faster than the stock 90-95 hp most people are stuck with.
I have been living here since January 1st

Road race car. maybe I will do one summer were it will be a show car but I don't know yet.
It is setup for Autox right the moment and is slowly getting turned into to a car that will rule the road course lol.

great torque with such low cr... you know it can be a best when run with the gx pistons, good luck!
I know the thing is a torque monster right the moment it's good up to about 80-95mph then it starts to hit the wall though.

LOL It's not that low to the ground suspension tuning is a black art but luckily I'm very good at it. Yes I know there are issues with the mcpherson strut setup on the 7thgens. But there is not as much roll in this car as most people would think. my car doesn't understeer any more it oversteers just a bit which is a very wierd thing for a FWD car, and it tends to throw most people off; it is very hard to actually get the car to understeer. But there is still room for a lot of improvement wich is why at some point I am going to try to redisgn the front end suspension.

You can do alot with a set of shocks that have adjustable dampening and bracing in the right spots of the chasis. Besides I only need two wheels on the ground to make the car go fast:rofl:

It will I can't wait to drive a car with RHD again it holds a certain sentimental value to me cause I learned stick on a RHD Landrover Discovery in Mozambique

haha same goes with my car, my rear kicks out if its pushed hard, scary but fun.
Mine's that way too. Hell of a lot of fun, hahaha.
It is definitely a lot of fun when it oversteers

its the way honda implemented the design in our cars! i mean seriously 2 degrees of aster?! wtf?! also do you plan to compete or just a weekend track car??
I know right, I wish they had never switched from the double wishbone setup.

Right the moment weekend track car but it depends on the engine.
I have been seriously contemplating Honda challenge. Due to the rule book the single cam d-series can run unlimited cam, unlimited compression, Unlimited exhaust/header, unlimited intake mani as long as there is a stock throtle body. the problem is you can only achieve the compression by decking the block or using oem honda pistons.

Maybe that will shed some light on everybody why I have built the car N/A hehehe

So here are some more pictures that I dug up and took today.

this is what the car used to look like before the carbon fiber trunk were I lost the spoiler I'm still debating weather to put the spoiler back on or not cause it does balance the car out nicely on the highway when matched with the garden edging
