I'm lookin into the hks, from what i've heard it sounds nice, not too loud, and it's cheap. I know I can't base my opinion off youtube videos, but they all sound so different...
(sorry I don't know how to get the videos on here, i'm a noob)

If anyone owns the hks could you tell me what it sounds most like or give me options for some other good exhausts. Yes, I have read threw this thread, and other exhaust threads.
The other exhaust I was lookin at was the GReddy Evo2, althought it is a bit more expensive. Is it worth it though? Considering its a cat-back, and the hks isn't.

Sorry if I had a lot of questions, but help would be appreciated.

 

I had the DS Sports TCS2 on my car for less than a month. What a terribly noisy fart-pipe. It looked neat, but that's about it. :tdn:


I removed it and put an Apexi WS2 on my car. Couldn't be more please with the note. Subtle, yet sporty. It's perfect. :tup:

i have the greddy EVO-2 myself, i love the exhaust !! very nice deep tone ! i love how on cold mornings i take 1st gear up to 5000 rpm and wen i shift it has the nicest burp !! sounds exactly like an SRT-4 would ! too bad it only does it on 1st gear and on a cold morning ! i love wen the exhausts burp and backfire lol

not overly loud, like when i had to sneak out of mamas house (ya im 19 we were all there once) hahaha anyway didnt wake anybody up but when u decided to go to 4 rpms and up its sounds real nice and not like rice :fu:

 

im still stucked between SP2 or WS2. Im not expecting any gain.. just for something sporty look and nice subtle sound. These got my attention and they are so simliar, any recommendation anyone?

according to them WS2 is made from SS.

 

The WS2 is VERY nice. Great sound with a nice tip. I have a magnaflow, sounds similar to the WS2 but with a huge tip. Only get SS, you dont want that puppy rusting up on you fast.

i just got a new exhaust put on guess what it is...haha,

Rsx-TypeS Oem Exhaust, was custom flange welded to bolt on my catback...so basically an axle back...

Fit: 3 rattles a bit so i custom a rubber to not make it quiet...

Sounds: 1 very quiet love it...

Overall i love my exhaust. Id reccomend to people who enjoy a rather loud exhaust. Performance feels the same dont let the sound get to your head and thinks its faster lol. Fitment went well together but does rattle against heatsheld underfloor board so bending hangers with channel locks fixed that.

Power: 2, no gains

Loudness: 3, nice tone to it, fairly quiet

Magnaflow are always badass sounding.

I also like the Apexi NS1? and the Megan racing one. I personally don't like the look of the HKS one that hangs on an angle.

The only problem with Invidia is that the piping sits right against the frame around the mid pipe section, but the trade off is that I can hear VTEC-E :dance: this exhaust is amazing for sound!

Just thought I would comment since I didn't see anyone with a Megan Drift Spec.

Fit = 5
Power = 3
Loud = 5
SS 2.5 pipe/4.5 tip about $350-$400 depending on where you get it.

Fit's like a glove, waaaay to easy to install. Anyone with a basic knowledge of hand tools can do it no problem. The only problem is The sedan bumper will rub the fart can so trimming is a must if you don't want it to melt.

Power, it feels like a little more up top but maybe that's just because it's so loud. Either way it feels better than stock.

Loud - It's loud as fuck at WOT. However it has a decent idle and really growls right around 2-3k range when you're driving around town. It's not too deep but doesn't sound rice at all. It is loud though and will drone on a road trip. Just put the silencer in.

Another category that isn't on there though, it has a big ass SS fart can which I'm sure will turn some people off. It looks good to me and there is definitely nothing subtle about it.

Overall I rate it a 4.5 out of a perfect 5. I would venture to say it's definitely the best exhaust out there for the money.

 

Tsudo Type X SS Catback (2.5" piping, 4.5" tip)

Loudness - - 3.5 (4.5 with cat delete)

Overall a good exhaust. Has less insulation in the can for more flow, only downfall makes the exhaust louder. Installed with a cat-delete makes it raspy like a true fart can. Definitely a good pair with the stage 1 cam to open up the exhaust more.

wasn't expecting much from it but i think it sounds great imo. not at all raspy and not super loud either. most people dont like the fart can look but it really doesnt look that large with the HFP lip

Pipe hung a little low to the ground, and was clamped together. I payed $75 to have it adjusted so it doesn't drag, and welded into a solid piece so I have no leaks.

Pretty noticeable over stock, cant expect too much...

If I try I can almost keep this exhaust from making any more noise than stock pipes. Deep throaty, no ricer drone. Really only sings when you want it to.

 

Magnaflow Stainless Steel 2.25" Single Cat-Back Exhaust System w/ 4" tip

The The tip rattle against my rear bumper at idle using the stock exhaust hangers. Other then that fits great and not to low for me on stock hangers.

Power: 3
I didn't really notice a huge power gain. It does feel a little stronger on the top end though.

Loudness: 3
It has a nice deep tone and only becomes noticeably loud above 4,000rpm WOT. Most of the time I don't even notice that I have an aftermarket exhaust. No droning on the highway which is great!

 

I'm going to change my rating for fitment.

Fit: 2
After having the exhaust on my car for almost a year now it hits my front sway bar, drops in the middle, and still hits my rear bumper. Always the exhaust leaks no mater how many times I try to re-adjust it or how hard I tighten the U-clamps.
