I would like to start upgrading my car a little at a time. Not really mechanically inclined, but catch on fast. I current have my 2003 honda dx in the shop for a engine swap, going to a v tec. But what could I do myself that would be fairly easy to grasp ahold of and increase the performance of my honda? I have seen a good place to start is exhaust and cold air intake. Is this accurate? thanks in advance.

Well, assuming you have a D17A2, the only way to make any amount of power that's decent would be a turbo, other than that, nothing will really help. But for a turbo you need Hondata, which is around $1k. These cars really won't go fast, unless you do a K-Swap. K24 with K20 head all motor builds are really popular right now, and for good reason. If you wanna go fast though, you gotta either ditch the D-Series, or make it a pain.
