I was wondering if anybody has tried to color match paint their front Lip in Taffeta White. I am really strapped for cash so i was wondering what my options were? I cant seem to find taffeta white paint.

Well i don't know how "strapped" you are, but i would get some rattle cans made for you to use. I am sure you can find somewhere local that can run your paint under something and produce paint close to identical. I would recommend taking your gas cover off, taking it to a place such as this, and say "make me some cans for this exact color."

Or go to www.paintscratch.com, they have some for a decent price. I got mine for like $30. Not too bad for OEM paint in a can.

i just painted my sides tafetta white. i got my paint from paintscratch.com. the clearcoat ate the paint and turned it pink. and the paint cans i had would constantly leak air out of the can through the nozzle which inturn would throw splatters of paint out that i would have to re sand. and since the cans were leaking air pressure i only got to use half a can of actual paint out of each can. so after wasting 90.00 with taintscratch.com i ended up going to walmart and grabbing a can of gloss white krylon fusion. here is a pic to show you. its a lil off but usually you have to go up close to see it. oh ya, and the can of krylon fusion cost me $4.00 and even sprayed 10x better than other cans.

The sides look good. They dont look off at all.Is there any way you can take a close picture to show the difference? I just ordered some NHBP from them to repaint my lip.. So hopefully its okay. Also, what kind of clear did you use? I used Duplicolor Acrylic Laquer on mine, and the shine was shitty and yeah.. I might try Duplicolor high gloss clear next time. i used black krylon paint for the fog area on my car... worked out great... i prolly need to touch it up soon, but it is good.

no not at all, ive told alot of people and they would say they didnt even notice. i think i was really one of just a couple that noticed but thats how we tend to get with our own cars lol. now i do have a sagging problem with my sides but i finally have a custom bracket to fix that, just havent done it yet. alot of people have noticed that...

Yea i could tell, but we all have little flaws with our cars. I just need to paint my lip and sides so it looks cleaner. I like what you did though with just painting the sides.

i was told that the clearcoat paintscratch sales is a lacquer(sp?) clearcoat. it just ate at the paint, the next morning i woke up and they were pastel pink and supposed to be a tafetta white. since then ive had alot of people on this site tell me that their paint is good but the clearcoat is not. might want to source some different clear. might save you some money in the long run. i bought paint and clear from them and wasted 90.00, and in the end used a 4.00 can to do the entire job lol.
