Just got off the phone with Ptuning and they said the earliest they could do is Friday. I told them I'd call back after I see my work schedule for next week.

Hes got the ex head.

You cant run different cams with the lx head.

Thats the big reason people upgrade to the ex head, because vtec doesnt give you to much....

 

Welll.. .Josh... you can... it just hasn't been done by any more than 1 person that ,I know of, and requires a custom cam. I would really like to do it just to see what it could make. Due to the nature of how the d17 vtec works, I honestly believe it could make more power lower in the power band.

Buy josh's ex head and put it on! Then either get a ex ecu and a ex engine harness or just buy the vafc2 and call it a day. Then upgrade to the stage 1 cam........ Nice n/a setup right there mang.

 

man i was hoping to buy a cam and kpro and call it good but i dunno about all that head changing and stuff, i don't know how to do all that myself and don't have any friends who can help me

 

Damn that sucks.
But if u can swap a cam u can swap a head. U just have to take the bolts that hold it on off after u get the cam out then pull the head off install in reverse order. All u have to do with the vafc2 is wire it into vtec and the ecu and ur done. It's pretty straight forward. I could write u a diy when I pull the head off my new engine when I get it..... Well I can install it and give you the idea on what to do.

I'm sure there's gotta be someone within distance that can help you if need be.

 

yea definitely put up a DIY i'm sure i can get someone to help if i decide to do so, which hopefully i will cuz i sure would like a little more power out of this thing.

 

I'll do the best i can for you man. I/H/E and stage 1 cam is a nice little upgrade over stock.

U could always send ur cam to crower and get a custom regrind :dunno:

 

then i'd have to go without a car for who knows how long and i don't have a back up, that's my biggest draw back on doing stuff to my engine cuz i'm afraid of messing something up and not having a car

 

I have a spare lx cam in the shed if you want it... Just ship me ur's when you get mine back from crower and we'd be even....
