I think the effect would be negligible unless you get into tuning the car for an auto cross or something.

outside, passenger area. i dont hear anything if its wet. speed and road conditions dont really matter.
it squeaks then stops for a second or two, then squeaks again. But it is also very inconsistant. Sometimes it will make noise sometimes it wont. When i took it to my mechanic we drove around for 20 minutes, switching drivers even and there was no noise, but when i drove my friend the noise came back. Weight does not matter.

car is at 61,000 miles and the front pads are still good says the mechanic (without opening it)
my rotor has a bunch of rust on it though...but once again i hear no noise when i am alone.

your question is very vague. what do you mean by "effect"? the tie rod travels in an arc when the suspension is compressed. there are multiple factors as to what weight will compress your suspension a given amount. plus this noise you get...you need to get down there, do some testing and pinpoint where its coming from.

what i mean is, does a passengers weight compress the tie rod or push it down? My mechanic checked the car by lifting it, shaking the wheel around, and there was no problem. But due to the fact that ive changed suspensions so many times im thinking the tie rod could have been slightly stripped - thus making that noise - despite the castle nut being on tightly.

Does yours make noise if you're alone? Because mine doesnt...

I don't think a 150 lb person would affect your suspension. Now a 400 lb person will make a difference. I have a friend that ways that much and every time he's in someone vehicle on a consistent basis something happens to the passenger side.

How do you know the noise is from the tie rod?

i dont think its from the tie rod, but i do have a similar problem, and it usually comes when I have a passenger, but im not sure. I here like if it was the brakes sqeaking, but its a much lighter tone ans usually comes on when im in second gear. is that what you have?

well the first time i brought the car in, my mechanic tightened the castle nut on the tie rod and the noise went away for a week. Then it started up again and he looked at the nut and tightened it again and it was already tight. So Im thinking it's probably the brakes then?
Would extra weight push down on the calipers or rotors?
