Rod knock is usually lower down and a deeper sound. It sounds like a single valve tappet may have eroded or come loose. Certainly worth an exploratory valve cover removal. Youtube can help here with lots of howto's. Find the big shop manual download online somewhere too. It's got the stuff you need like crank position progression and adjustment gauges to use. If it is eroded the tappet(adjuster) will be beveled on the end and just adjusting it won't stay very long so you might need to replace them all. If it's also running bad/missing a cylinder it could also be worse things like a stuck or bent valve..but start with the easy answer and try checking for a loose tappet and doing a valve adjustment. If you aren't DIY then most shops can handle it in a couple hours
Hey thanks. Well it turns out the upper drivers side engine mount had blown out and was allowing the drive belt to actually work slap the sub frame. Crazy days
