If its a D17 dont use DSM injectors. Dont use low resistanc peak and hold injectors without a standalone and I would strondly push an injector driver as well. Even with the resistor box its not the way to go. I ran DSM 450s on my AEM ems and they idled awefull no matter what anyone did to the maps. If you look around more there are other injector options on the table.

 

I dono man, I'd chock that up to the AEM, I ALWAYS had idle issues with that fucking thing. I'm running rc 1000's with a resistor box and it idles beautifully, even with the stage 3 cam. I'm not using a driver, either. According to Jeff, with my setup, a driver would be ulitmately useless. The drivers on the newer ecu's are plenty efficient to handle a p&h injector with not problems. I've had the injectors for about 6 months or so and haven't had any issues with them. I know alot of k series guys run them without drivers, as well...

But, you may be talking specifically about dsm injectors, in which case, I've never bothered with them so I can't really say either way...

 

your easiest options are either the type s injectors or srt-4 injectors. i would recommend to go ahead and step up to the srt-4's. they wont cost you much more and the stage 1's are 577 cc, plenty to support a decent turbo setup.

Plug in your power goals, follow the rest of the instructions and that will tell you what size injectors you should run.

Key thing to keep in mind about the SRT-4 injectors is that they only flow 577cc at 54psi. At the stock Honda fuel pressure (43ish) they flow about 480cc.

 

The only reason I said dsm 450cc is because local b series guys tell me to get 450cc injectors but I decided to ask on here since you are all obviously more knowledgeable about the d17 power plant than a b series guy would be. Thanks for the info.

If you are using RSX-S and RDX injectors, then your stock clips are fine.

If you are using RC style injectors, then you need Bosch EV1 injector clips, like these:

i got type s injectors from rsx.. .. first kit i ever had that is what i used. no modding needed besides longer studs for fuel rail. Now i use diff stuff but got them if anyone want em

 

would upgrading the injectors in my d17a1 improve anything at all if that was the only thing I did at first. Im trying to slowly tune my engine. As soon as I get a new car though, my Civic LX is going to become my performance project.

 

You'll just be running too rich....(so no). I would say your first upgrade should be a stage 1 cam. That is going to be the only thing on this car that would add any sort of pep at all without a turbo. You could always add a header, intake, exhaust after that, but it wont really do much (anything). Lol. Other than that, turbo/swap.
