So I've been searching if anyone ever did a write up on putting city lights in an 04-05 headlight housing, and I failed to find one. I know the wiring is pretty self explanatory (I just want to connect it to my parking lights), but I am unsure on where exactly to drill the hole. Many DC2s and older gen civics do it on the bottom and I've seen the past post on the 01-03 lights do it right under the bulb. I've also heard there is a marked area on the usdm lights for city lights. :dunno: If anyone can shine a light to this...

anyone done this to their 01-03. i think i saw a one guy but it was just a pic. i want to try but im afraid ill cause leakage.
I did it on my 02 but I didn't do the usual drilling a new hole method. I used these adapters http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=663238 and just wired them to my parking lights. It is a very fit but they work. You might want to use these if you're afraid of leakage. There's a decent amount of DIYs on honda-tech, non of them are specific to 7thgens but they should give you a good place to start if you decide to do the drilling methond.

what exactly is a city light?
This is my understanding I got while searching on honda-tech a couple years back when I put mine in. In the big cities of Japan it's so well lit that there is really no need for low beams. So people use their city lights to still maintain visibility to other drivers without using the unnecessary low beams. Honestly I put them in because I thought they looked cool.
Here is a visual example

K. Legaspi and I did them on our cars.
Not going to do a write-up or anything, then everybody will do it and it won't be unique anymore.

i have the jdm housings and the city light goes above the lo-beam. here's a pic from pw:jdm

They make JDM housings for the em2? Interesting that it's in the lowbeam housing...

i believe there's an indentation on the back of the usdm housing marking where it's supposed to go
so most likely the indentation is in the lowbeam housing. Well I'm going to put them in the highbeam anyways cuz I think it looks a lot better.

it's made for the es2 since the em2 wasn't sold in japan. here's a pic of the lights on my car. its small but if you look closely you can see it.

ill circle it out for you if you can't find it
