Remove the reverse idler gear.
Remove the reverse shift fork.
Remove the counter shaft and the main shaft as an assembly
Remove the differential. Remove the input shaft bearing which is to the far left in the pic by tapping it out from the other side of the case.
Input shaft seal...
Remove the flange bolts.
Remove the sealing cap using a 1/2" extension
Expand the snap ring on the counter shaft bearing while prying the housing open
The housing might be stuck to the dowel pins do not scratch the mating surfacing separate gently.
Remove trans (see DIY in engines and transmissions)
Remove (2) detent bolts, (2)springs, (2)balls and backup light switch
Remove the selector lever assembly. Put it in the center position which is neutral
Remove air intake tube and air filter housing.
Remove battery and remove the battery tray by removing the 4 bolts. It just gives you more room to work.
Remove the transmission ground cable.
Remove the clutch line bracket.
