| Premium Subscriber | USING MY PIC FOR A REFERENCE. WHERE THERE IS ONE PIN ABOVE THE REST WE WILL CALL THIS THE LEFT SIDE. SO THE THE LEFT TOP PIN IS PIN 1 THE LEFT LOWER (THIS IS ALSO A COPPER PIN) IS PIN 2 THE NEXT PIN ON THE RIGHT OF PIN 2 WILL BE PIN 3 THE PIN TO THE RIGHT OF 3 (THIS PIN IS COPPER IN COLOR LIKE PIN 2)WILL BE PIN 4 AND THE LAST PIN WILL BE 5 PIN 1 & 2 GO TO GROUND PIN 3 IS THE SWITCHED 12 V (THIS IS THE WIRE THAT FEEDS YOUR LIGHTS.) PIN 4 SHOULD GO TO THE 12V FOR THE LIGHT SWITCH. WHEN THIS IS FED +12V THE LIGHT ON THE FRONT OF THE SWITCH WILL COME ON. (THIS IS FOR ILUMINATION ONLY) PIN 5 IS THE FEED FOR THE FOGS. THIS IS THE 12V THAT WILL BE FEEDING THE FOGS. JUST AN ADDED NOTE: THE TWO PINS THAT ARE COPPER ARE USED FOR ILLUMINATION OF THE SWITCH ONLY. SO IF YOU HOOK PIN 2 TO THE CHASI GROUND AND PIN 4 TO THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH ON THE STEERING COLUMN (SO THAT PIN 4 IS FED +12V WHEN THE PARKING LIGHTS ARE ON), THIS WILL ILLUMINATE THE SWITCH WHEN THE PARKING LIGHTS ARE ACTIVATED. THE SILVER COLORED PINS ARE FOR THE ACTUAL POWERING OF THE ACCESORY, THAT IS BEING POWERED BY THE SWITCH. Last edited by Alpha 5; 09-08-2008 at 12:21 PM. |

| Premium Subscriber | Well here it is, all finished. I had to cut the plastic off of the harness, so that I could solder the wires properly. I also used a female spade for the pins 4 and 5. 1. Cut the plastic off with a hack saw blade. 2. I then bent pin 1 and 2 so that the tips are touching. I then soldered a black wire between them. 3. I then soldered pin 3 to a purple wire. (this is the wire for the fog relay) 4. I then crimped a red wire on to a male spade connector it fits perfectly over pin 4 and 5. 5. After I finished all the soldering. I tested the switch to make sure it worked. 6. I then used some heat-shrink on the wires to help clean it up and prevent any future problems. I am happy and much thanks to TemjinX2 for the initial pic. It helped a lot.. Last edited by Alpha 5; 09-08-2008 at 12:21 PM. |

| I just noticed something. If pin 4 and 5 are spaded together, you cant turn on the fog lights by itself if the parking lights aren't on. So is it possible to connect pin 4 to the illumination wire for the CD player and pin 5 to the socket lighter? __________________ I <3 My Honda 2001 Civic SiG, 5spd, Eternal Blue, 140k km www.ottawahondaclub.com - Admin | |
