Default Clunking Noise

Alright guys, i got another question. SO my dad and i installed the springs i bought (eibach sportlines) All was good until the rear left. There is a clunking noise every time the car goes over a fairly large bump while not going slowly. No, the car isnt touching (well it is but that isnt the noise) it sounds more like a metal on metal noise.

We have taken it down and put it back together 3 times and it still makes the noise. It's only in the rear left corner so i dont know what's wrong. All bolts are tight and everything, did it like we did the rear right.

Quick answers/theories if possible. Anybody else had this problem before?

there might be a spacer in the tophat that you forgot to put back properly and that will give you the metal to metal clunk, there should be a lil washer than a long spacer than a black washer type thing. if u dont put all those in there it will make the noise and possibly rip your tophat from the chassis

There was a black cap like thing that went over the orange part of the shock, then a gold washer, then the black rubber and then the black rubber that the top hat locks onto then the top hat then a gold dish type washer then the nut. That's all that was there when we took it off from the original spring that wasnt making any noise. So are we missing pieces?

yeah check those two tiny hard to get to 14mm nuts on the top hat.
tighten them when the car is on the ground.

I also have this same problem I had this problem when I originally lowered the car it always sat lower on the right rear than the left. It has not handled correct since and does have the occasional slamming.

What I have found is this.
The lower bolt holding the strut in can be loose.
The upper bolt holding the actual shock in.
The 14mm bolts they were talking about on the hat.

My suggestion take the car and jack it up and check the condition of everything starting with wheel bearing/ball joint (put your hands at 9 and 3 oclock and shake, then at 12 and 6 and shake to see if there is movement. Then try to load and unload the suspension to see if you can hear the noise.

Let us know how it works out.
