Default Are coilovers enough for a clean, lowered car?

So, I got bored and I searched the word 'stance' on these forums.

Ran into this quote on the 'Stance Help!' thread
http://www.7thgenhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27146

Quote:
rear camber arms, front camber plates or camber bolts, probably inverted tie rod ends, notch frame, coils, 17x9 wheels with 215/40 or 215/35, fenders rolled and pulled a little.
Is it really necessary to have all of this stuff or is it if you really want to slam a vehicle?

I know coilovers are preferred for a more fuller suspension swap, but is there anything else needed besides camber kits?

That depends, if you want a clean, lowered car, all you need is coilovers, camber bolts, and camber kits.

If you're looking to be slammed, I mean em2cody, obk, Dean Sanchez, hondarules, and 1sickes1 slammed, your going to need at least 16's, frame notch, shorter/inverted tie rods, some way to get more low in the front(shorter springs, extended top hats) lower offset wheels, fender roll definitely, maybe fender pull, in some cases a frame notch, and stretched tires. One of my favorite setups is OBK's. His tires have no stretch but he still has good fitment. Also, keep in mind that slammed does not necessarily mean flush. You can be slammed on 15's or high offset wheels but your wheels will be look sunken into the fenders.

K, cool. That should be good. I just wanna lower my car on the OEM rims for a bit and perhaps invest in some nice ones.

I have coilovers and camber kits with stock fat fives. At least with OEM you don't have to roll fenders.

agree.

plus all sorts of stuff that you will find after you lift the car, such as worn-out bushings, endlinks, ball joints, torn boots, etc, etc

so if you are just doing a small to mild lowering, have a buffer in the bank, at the least for the sway bar endlinks and the LCA bushing (the most likely to cause trouble )

You might not have to for a pretty long while. You might have lowest mileage em2 on this site. But Energy suspension bushings give you better ride quality. You should also try to find a bigger rear sway bar like the 05-06 rsx-s 21mm bar. You don't need one but less body roll=less rubbing if your tires are really close to your fenders.

I was thinking if I'm going to do my suspension, might as well do everything right? Upgrade everything. Get an alignment then wait until I get new rims haha
