Default Cars dead

So driving home tonight from work and my car overheated. Oil light came on and the engine just died. Have plenty of oil in engine. Waited for the engine to cool down before trying to start it and it wouldn't start. Finally got it to start and limped it home. Looks like the block may be cracked, and head gasket blown. So I am now contemplating on wither to do a k swap or get a new used car, and yes I have the money for a k swap. So I am reaching out to you guys to hear your opinions.

if the chassis is in good condition and everything else is reliable then i would go with a k. it would be cheaper than parting out the whole car and buying a new one.

Well, do you have another car to drive around while you work on the 7th gen. If not, getting a working car would be my priority. If you do, then K swap all the way.

OR

If there is a time where you don't need the car and can have all the k swap parts and do the swap quickly, I'd do that.

I do have another car I can drive, my fathers truck. Transportation is not really an issue.

I actually found a k24a2 for $1700 with less than 80,000 miles, has a at tranny though.

I am more on the side to fix the em2 just because its completely paid off, and I can do what ever I want to it.

I am worried though that if I invest 5k into the car, I wont get it back if I sell it in the future. Unless I sell it to the right people.

That's a good deal, I'd go for it.
Just make sure you really like the EM2 before you put that kind of money into it. You will never get as much as you want for your car sadly. That's why I decided not to sell mine. I'd never get what I think it's worth.

if you do swap it remember if u do want to sell the car just put a stock d series back in it and sell it... then sell the motor separately or part it out

Personally I would K swap. But if your looking for return on investment it will not happen. You gotta swap because you love the car and want to build it better.

I think I might just do the k swap. I am having a hard time finding a new used car that fits my criteria.
