Default Suspension Questions: Post Here

If you have a quick/noob question related to a suspension post here

Ok I think we need a thread like this instead of having ppl post worthless threads that require one post answers.
ie. Will springs from an ex fit my lx?

If you have a question which will require more member input please make a thread.

Alright, just to clear up confusion and everyone giving me different answers..

I have an 2001 Civic LX, will springs from a 03-05 fit them? The ones I have are 55mm and I know my stock ones are 50mm. I've heard it doesn't matter unless I have konis, since I have the whole assembly, and I can just drill the crash bolt bigger?

Stock height. But seriously probably no more than an inch and a half.

yes the springs are interchangeable between 01-05 lx, ex, dx, vp. strut housing diameter only matters when installing koni inserts. if your putting 03-05 onto an 01, the holes on the strut assembly (from 03-05) are (99% of the time) already larger than the knuckle's hole on your 01. there for, the struts you want to install use a larger crash bolt than can fit into your knuckle

Ah.. So they will work then? So what exactly do I do about the crash bolt? Or simply put, what can I do to make them work? Your last statement kind of threw me off a bit, sorry.

So are there any shocks that will work with the GC's that are comparable to (or better) than the Koni Yellows but they dont have to be inserted into the OEM shock tube? Just looks like a bunch of extra work I don't really want to mess with if I can avoid it.
