I recently replaced all the seals on my head and block including the valve stem seals and headgasket yet I get more than usual bluish smoke at a cold start, more so first time I crank it in the morning (not heavy at all once warm)
been considering a oil restrictor for my turbo, anyone have experience with a restrictor on their setup? came to realize i may have to much oil feed to my turbo which possible may or did damage my turbo seals Turbo is a Garrett T3 super 60, any info would be appreciated regarding a restrictor as the idea just came to my head and I am slightly clueless about it

I have a restrictor on my turbo, it's just an older small garrett T3. My car would smoke a bit too and I notice it was using a bit of oil. I got it from King Motorsports here is the site http://www.kingmotorsports.com/p-299...-fittings.aspx Since I put that in no more smoke and doesn't use oil. Good luck.

Thanks for the link, although would you know how well the oil pressure feed with that restrictor is? i fear the issue of starving the turbo from oil as well
i guess my main question is around what is the average turbo feed pressure

I wouldnt know about how much the pressure is restricted, but I have had mine in for over 2 years and have had no issue with the turbo being starved of oil. Like I said I am running an older Garrett with bushings not ball bearings, if you are running a ball bearing turbo you may want to call up a place like king or a local speed shop and see what they say.

you should always run a restrictor for a turbo what size is up to you but as of this moment I run a journal bearing turbo but my restrictor is the size you would use on a dual ball bearing turbo which is really tiny and I have no issues and have a lot less smoke

I just dont know what oil pressure my turbo should have, Paul if im not wrong you previously had a Garrett T3 super 60? would you know the ideal oil pressure for it, thats really my main question as from there i can look into restrictors or make a regulator to control the oil pressure

no see thats the trick you put an oil restrictor for a ball bearing turbo on a journal bearing turbo and it cuts down on the oil and smoke burning this is what I am running right the moment (on my journal bearing turbo)
