"Bolt-on" mods will not gain you noticeable power, just more noise.

Intake, Header, Exhaust MIGHT net 5-8 HP. Combine them with a stage 1 cam, and you might gain a total of 15-20 HP.

The D17 is not an engine that is made for power, it was made for reliability and fuel economy.

If you want to get more than barely noticeable improvements, you've got to step up to big-boy money like a turbo or k-swap. If you're resourceful, patient, and have another car to drive, you can buy used parts and have a turbo done for ~$2k, or a swap for a bit more. This is assuming you will do the work yourself.

I suggest not cheaping out on things that matter, as it could cost you a lot in the long run. This is especially true for turbos and tuning.

Yea I don't want alot of noise. It's a 5speed so I thought I would atleast get some gains but if they won't be noticeable then why should I waste my money on more noise with no gains

Any engine swap to me doesn't seem reasonable because I don't know how to swap an engine out and I bet a mechanic would charge alot to swap engines just seems like more of a hassle for a engine swap

I picked up 40 more miles per tank, with injen cold air intake, and magnaflow header back. Just my .02. Also at 65-70 it's not to bad of a drone, the back speakers rattle more than I can hear the exhaust.
