Default Break light on, wont turn off**

I searched before I posted but didn't find anything but if there is a thread about it please let me knw, my problem is my brake light is on and won't turn off, it's been like that for almost a year...anyone know what it can be?

disconnect the BRAKE pedal sensor and see if it goes out. if it does, you could have a bad or sticking sensor. I'd start there.

Ok, is there another sensor around the e brake? Someone had said to me that it might be a problem with the e brake sensor or something...?

There is a microswitch for the parking brake. On my 05 there was a small cover close to switch IIRC.

What year is the car ?
Some 01/02s had problems with multiplex that would cause it to stay lit.
