Wish TX wasn't so far away I'd love to go. I went to the Fall Nationals last year I fucking love the Ennis track I wish I could run my car there.

So i went racing today! Needless to day i had a great time. My friends Kyle and Sean went with me and it was a blast. The non-stop maddness that is us three just kept on coming. Everything from our NTB *National Tire and Break* shindiggs, to my final pass of the day. I may not have won anything, but just having a good time with firends and getting to drive my super civic again was fun ennough! I did learn a lot today. and i did set a new personal Best 13.313@105mph. I would have had a 13.2 but i had to break before i lost the race and ran a 13.518@90mph lol. :( sad face.. oh well it was a good day. Ill have pics and videos up later

I let off cause i was passing him. and USUALLY when you pass someone in brackets you have already one, the bad news is he let off too :(... But i usually launch at about 5500rpm

his runs were consistant 13.30-13.40 @ 103-105.

the track got alot of cloud/sun/cloud/sun action so that made reading the track very hard. i wisht i had an IR temp sensor so i could see what it was. id imagine it fluxed +- 20 degrees at some points. thats quite a bit when you are talking about a full slick tire.

in the heat, glen either has too much tire or needs to launch fully in boost. dead hooking will blow more axleshafts than spinning out of the hole. glen you arent getting good enough burnouts so i dont think you are heating the tires up to the temperature in which the chemicals in the tires will start to work.

we need to come up with a way of doing better burnouts glen. if that means you starting to spin your tires in teh waterbox, quickly shifting to 2nd and laying on the loud pedal, then thats what we will do.

glen, im going to send robert prause the links to your runs, maybe he can help decide what to do.

You are right his burnouts (im sorry glen) were shit. I always pre spin my tires in the water box. then do my burn out. I know about bracket racing i race a 74 dart ill post a pic in a min. If you dont get a good burnout your launch is gonna suck, also how much psi do you run in your slicks? the temperature doesnt really matter too much when setting your slicks. It will have a sweet spot that it likes and will always hook up. On my race car i always set my slicks to 8 1/2 so by the time i do my burnout they are at least at 9 psi. From the way your slicks looked they were too low. You need to burnout in 2nd gear until you see a cloud of smoke or else they wont heat up and in that case you will get shitty 60 foot times. Try changing your tire setting before changing the way you launch cuz i gaurantee you that is some of the problem

totally agree.

friend of mine here says that the slicks and the track temp need to be about 100 degree difference. although now that i think about it, a 105 track temp and a 205 tire temp are hard to do. but if the track is 65 (first day of racing in texas) then the tire should be 165 and thats right in the sweet spot i think.

im also into the V8 RWD stuff. im friends with the guys at Nitrous Outlet and all of their F-bodies are damn fast as well.

im saying start your burnout in the waterbox..shift to 2nd or third then spin them on the pavement

more wheelspeed = hotter tires, although that might not be the best thing.
