Car is fcuking up!

Ok some of you guys remember I blew up the K. So I got a k24 getting built to replace it. Anywho I've swapped back the d17 into the car and things are starting to go bad.

1. Car idles @ 1.5k rpm then drops back to normal after 10secs.
2. When driving, I can't go past 4000k rpm. it feels like I bounce off the rev limiter at 4000.

3. When it does go past 4000 it has no power what so ever. I know it's a d17 and has no power
but when I try to floor it goes no where lol. I'm getting past by mini vans and shit.

Help me out!! Could it be the vtec solenoid? cause when I got done putting the motor back in, I forgot to plug it in. It was doin the same thing as now. but now that everything it plugged in, it's still doin it

i might be making myself look stupid but have you given it an oil change?

One of the members on the site who I know was having similar problems and he just needed an oil change

did you try to reset your ecu??? i mean after you found out about the solenoid, if so, it sounds like you need to replace the vtec solenoid ... it happens a lot actually, where the solenoid just need to be replaced

try resetting the ecu. is it throwing a code?

hmmmmmmm maybe I'll change the oil LOL. Also I'm leaking oil, it's coming from where the tranny and block meets. I think I might have not put in the rear main seal good.

Happened to me. Changed the oil and realized i only drained two quarts.. lost the rest. It a safety feature honda adds so that you dont ruin the engine. If your low on oil or havent changed it it wont go past 4k

yup found out last night when I blew up the motor! I put in 3 quarts when I got off work yesterday and later that night, the motor decides to go. spilling oil all over the engine bay.

Damn, thats sucks bro! Theres a article in the new Import Tuner about things like this, stick with it, don't give up and evetualy your have something you'll be proud of and you'll have learned more in the process.

That and not beating the shit out of your car helps too but we do anyway.

my k20 is in the process of getting rebuilt.

I think it's time to retire the civic and put it back to stock. It's been through hell over the years.
