: Future project cars anyone?
5spoke 08-31-2007, 12:10 PM Just trying to figure out if anyone has future cars they intend to buy and restore/modify/mess with. Could be anything from antique mustang to a new civic si.
I intend to buy a late 80's porsche 944 (maybe 944 turbo) hopefully with a low mileage engine that runs well. I basically want to have a car to mess with and drive on the weekends and then a daily driver to be reliable. Right now i have the civic and when i graduate from college I am gonna get the porsche. I want either the red or the silverish color. I plan to keep it mostly stock, but get new seats and replaces what ever i can to basically get it back to as close to new as possible.

Then when I get enough saved up and I am in a decent living situation I want to replace the civic with a mazda speed 6 or something in its category.
CHRIS 08-31-2007, 12:16 PM I wanted to do a CRX, do the entire interior and exterior and throw a b18 into it and start road racing it, but now that I got a G6 I am going to DD that and build my civic up instead
banzaisteve 08-31-2007, 12:33 PM I want to a AE86 for a project car :P. Hopefully next year, if I stop being lazy, I'll be able to pick one up for a good price.
5spoke 08-31-2007, 12:39 PM the only thing i worry about with the porsche is I have been researching them and they seem to require alot of maintenence. So when it comes time, I am gonna have to look into the porsche and I also want to look at old supras, like the mkII.
my current project is the em2 since i bought a fg2. but somewhere down the road i'll most likely adopt an ae86 and do some restoration and motorwork...maybe even import something like a s15...or a skyline...the only thing that's holding me back from the s15 and the skyline are the prices. for the same price i might as well get a lexus, mercedes or bmw. but the ae86 is definitely top on the list!
DtoKes1 08-31-2007, 04:49 PM yea porshe parts are mad expensive its gonna be a costly build..I want to do a crate motor in a foxbody mustabg prefferably 93 cobra, a 240sx with a sr20 swap..prob the mustang though

troof! the prices are real high on them. that's why i want to build a AE86. i think i look for them like 2-3x a week lol, just to see what's out there. they are so cheap to find and sometimes in pretty good condition. plus it is rare to see them :P. well...maybe not around cali so much, cause that is where i see most for sale.
Hugie60 09-01-2007, 10:52 AM i would love to get an S2000 for track and every day driving. Or get a 69 Chevy Nova...im sorry but i got love for old school muscle not like all those cocky mustang owners.

bobbysworld 09-01-2007, 11:54 AM ^^ you better get another 7thgen! haha
for me, definitely the last gen supra....hands down. i plan to have a fast sedan (the es1) and a hella fast coupe (supra) someday
5spoke 09-02-2007, 08:08 PM I have also been researching the e30 bmw's. I have been able to find alot of parts for them too, for relativly in expensive. And I have quite a few in the area that are for sale for like $500-1500. So its looking like an e30 manual transmission might be at the top of my list. I have also found alot of good resources for DIY on fixing everything on them.
ex2k3 09-02-2007, 09:02 PM i plan to pick up a rx-8 or fd rx-7 and swap in a 20b (3-rotor) turbo. an easy 500rwhp and if built i've seen them push it into 1000hp range. i also plan to pick up a bike here in the next month or 2, so that will be getting all of my attention. the civic as a project is pretty much done and i'm retiring from the FF platform. probably going to be FR/MR for me from next car on.
i plan ii buying another car and turning my vic into a project car.
