: Motor Mounts?

How many motor mounts do we have? In the DIY, it says theres 3 motor mounts but a mechanic told me theres 4. The DIY says there is the front, the rear, the left (facing the motor) under the airbox. The mechanic showed me theres one more on the right. Has like a liquid filled insert.
Also does anybody got a recommendation on where to buy motor mounts? I was going to buy them at a local autozone. They have a duralast brand and energy suspension inserts i think.

How about from Napa Auto. They have motor mounts manufactured by Balkamp. Any good reviews about them??

Get oems unless ur going turbo or something. There's nothing like oem parts. Carquest can get them for u.

oem parts? they will just fall apart like the other ones did.

Obk not at all dude. Oem mounts are good shit if ur stock or lightly modded.
7thgens are not new cars, motor mounts dry and crack after time. It's perfectly normal. I just replaced one on my dc5 I'm on the dyno I'm at 238whp and there holding up just fine. I'm upgrading to energy inserts soon.

I understand that but with the energy ones, its one and youre done.

But energy ones pass on the vibration to the cabin.

i've been tru 1 transmission mount, 1 front mount, and 2 driver side mount. i finally bought ES bushing for the front mount so it will not break later on, and i bought a driverside mount from autozone which was lifetime warranty. :x: hopefully this will help...

i got the front and rear ESMM install the vibration it not as bad, and replace the tranny mount with oem one, i found, it vibrated more when i just had the front ESMM installed, than when i got the rear install the vibration became less noticable

thanks everyone. I think I'm going go to carquest to see if their motor mount has lifetime warranty. if not then i probably just get some up at autozone. My car isn't modified or anything so I don't think I'm going to need es inserts.

ESMM is a good investment imo, cheap and affordable,
