Well I've been getting into autocrossing lately and found that the cars lack a little bit of torque off the line (I know it's a civic but I want to shave a few seconds off my time) etc, what kind of parts would you guys recommend to get a little more power? The only mod I have for the engine is a short ram intake and an exhaust (which was only put on for looks and sound back in the highschool ricer stage), all other parts are mostly suspension (which is complete).

you could just try putting in a new cam or something like that, i wouldnt expect to much out of it.
The thing is, I don't want to put on a turbo kit which is gonna result in me being moved to another class for auto-x, being much more competitive.. I guess there's not much bolt on's that will bring the D17A1's power up...

i have megan but if i was to spend the money again i would just buy DC race headers and get rid of the cat converter. but bought cheap crap for now till i can save and buy turbo stuff or kswap i dunno yet but if u want to stay n/a with the d17 id go with "DC"

nineteenDC5 07-19-2007, 08:18 PM ok well you dont have a vtec so there is a lil loss in powerband right there. you should get the A2 head and convert the exhaust and put the test pipe on it. i put that test pipe on my ex. it will let you stay with stock civic si s but not the 06s. Or just straight pipe it when you go to the track. it will be loud.

Steve 07-27-2007, 06:57 PM if you have lx, upgrading the exhaust or just getting a new header (deletes cat) will make good gains. even intakes make more than for ex.

k&n intake suppose to be only intake that adds hp/tq obvoiusly not much either
2.0" ID exhaust with no cat, add resonator in mix to keep quite 2.0" ID piping to axleback exhaust (insert brand dont think it matters, but i <3 hks hi power)

i just got tHe basic bolT on i/h/e i see, hear, and feel THe differance in torque i love tHe v2 intAke from aem That was the First bolT on i put on real niiice smooTh sound...prolyl some parTs tO gain hp is turbo or supercharger duhhh...or just swap the single to a dual...
do an oddesy motor swap. can it be done??? lol

nineteenDC5 07-30-2007, 11:32 PM im about to do a stage 2 cam upgrade, and hopefully ill be chillin with the modded si's and gsr's but im gonna do a before dyno cuz my car now with i/h/e plus test pipe is beatin stock si's except for the new ones. ill let you know what the results are if you want

127hp (isnt dynoed at the wheels) thats honda engine dynoed i beleive. a EX on the dyno puts down 90-100hp stock
